The functional jurisdiction of this department is limited within land administration and archive system. Research and development of most appropriate hardware and software system in land administration is its main function. The activities of this department are classified as under;
DOLIA is working with very limited human and non-human resources, however it has completed to establish computerized land information system.
Cadastral map in 29 different survey offices has been digitized and prepared geo-database.The districts are:Jhapa Chandragadhi, Jhapa Damak, Sunsari, Morang-Biratnagar, Morang-Belbari, Kathmandu-Kalanki, Kathmandu-Dillibazaar, Kathmandu-Chabhil, Bhaktapur, Lalitapur, Dhanusha, Sarlahi, Synja, Dhading, Parbat, Nabalparasi-Parasi, Nabalparasi-Kawaswoti, Rupandehi, Dang, Banke, Bardiya, Surkhet, Kailali-Dhangadhi, Kailali-Tikapur, Pokhara, Kaski and Chitwan. The cadastral maps of 25 other survey offices will be digitized by the end of this fiscal year 068/69. They are: Illam, Jhapa-Chandragadhi, Morang-Biratnagar, Saptari, Siraha-lahan, Siraha, Sarlahi, Nabalparasi-Parasi, Nabalparasi-Kawaswoti, Mahotari, Rautahat, Makawanpur, Kapilbastu, Dang, Surkhet, Kanchanpur, Kavreplanchowk, Sindupalchowk, Nuwakot, Gorkha, Tanhu, Lamjung, Baglung, Palpa, Gulmi.We are preparing archives for plot registers and field books also.
Front line offices are those offices where computerized systems of land administration are launched. During the period of attribute data capturing time, department deputes technical manpower for supervision and monitor the program and after the completion of program or data capturing work department provide necessary technical and physical supports as requested to run the services smoothly. Therefore the relation between the front office (service delivery offices) and department do not ends despite the completion of data capturing work.
This department does not have the direct relation with the general public but its role in delivering simplified, prompt and cost effecting land administration service is vital. It develops and installed the computerized land administration system in the front line offices where service seekers come for various types of land related services everyday. Some services like delivery of microfilm records and spatial data information to general public is provided on the request of concern offices and court.
