The government of Nepal has made a policy decision on developing computer based Land Information System(LIS) and implement it in land administration throughout the country.To ensure this optimistic aim, the government has formed Department of Land Information and Archive (DoLIA) by the cabinet decision on 2057/ 3 / 26 (July 10, 2000 AD). The department is under the supervision and control of the Ministry of Land Reforms and Management(MOLRM). It is assigned the responsibilities to furnish the functions carried by, then Integrated Land Information System and Central Land Archive project as well as the functional policy on the land information system approved.
The data entry in 82 land revenue offices has been complted by the end of fiscal year 067/68.Out of them, the 38 land revenue offices are performing transactions and distributing land ownership certification using this system, the 14 offices are only updating the records and the 30 offices are on the process to start for performing transaction through this system. Cadastral map in 29 different survey offices has been digitized and prepared geo-database.The districts are:Jhapa Chandragadhi, Jhapa Damak, Sunsari, Morang-Biratnagar, Morang-Belbari, Kathmandu-Kalanki, Kathmandu-Dillibazaar, Kathmandu-Chabhil, Bhaktapur, Lalitapur, Dhanusha, Sarlahi, Synja, Dhading, Parbat, Nabalparasi-Parasi, Nabalparasi-Kawaswoti, Rupandehi, Dang, Banke, Bardiya, Surkhet, Kailali-Dhangadhi, Kailali-Tikapur, Pokhara, Kaski and Chitwan. The cadastral maps of 25 other survey offices will be digitized by the end of this fiscal year 068/69. They are: Illam, Jhapa-Chandragadhi, Morang-Biratnagar, Saptari, Siraha-lahan, Siraha, Sarlahi, Nabalparasi-Parasi, Nabalparasi-Kawaswoti, Mahotari, Rautahat, Makawanpur, Kapilbastu, Dang, Surkhet, Kanchanpur, Kavreplanchowk, Sindupalchowk, Nuwakot, Gorkha, Tanhu, Lamjung, Baglung, Palpa, Gulmi Read More....
